About Suzanne

Suzanne is an artist living and working in her studio beside Brisbane‘s Bay.

Suzanne has a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art, as well as a Visual Arts teaching qualification. After she graduated from University in Western Australia she travelled overseas before returning to Australia to settle in Queensland and teach Visual Art. Taking a break from teaching and her own practice she then spent time off raising a family, only dabbling in her own art practice occasionally over this period. Suzanne has recently returned to concentrate on building her art practice full time in Brisbane and her strong background in the Visual Arts means that she has hit the ground running. Having majored as an Interdisciplinary Artist, her current work has gravitated towards a focus on mixed media drawing and painting. Mark making and the physical process of drawing has always been a big part of Suzanne’s practice, as well as being the underlying foundation to all of her artwork, both past and present. Although her previous art studies took her in a more conceptual focused direction, she believes that the layering and blending of colours in the paint medium best represents her current practice to signify the changing atmosphere and tides of the familiar bayside landscape which inspires her artwork.
